Macular Degeneration Self-Test

(AMSLER GRID)

How to use the AMSLER Grid to detect changes in the macular.

1. Cover one eye.
2. Stare at the center dot, through your reading glasses, if you have them.
3. While concentrating at the center dot below, notice the surrounding grid.  ALL THE LINES SHOULD BE STRAIGHT.
4. If some of the lines are wavy and crooked, you may have changes in the macular.  Please see your eye doctor.
